Many people believe that, as we age, sexual dysfunction is just a “fact of life.” In fact, we know that half – or more – of all men between the ages of 35 and 65 report either erectile dysfunction, another sexual wellness issue, or both.

In addition to the common physical issues, sexual dysfunction can, and, often, will place a great deal of emotional stress on an individual or relationship, magnifying the difficulty associated with the physical symptoms.

While sexual dysfunctions like these may affect a majority of men, age-related sexual dysfunction is not a condition we must just accept. There are multiple, proven, medical treatments available today that counteract the symptoms of age-related erectile dysfunction.

Erectile Dysfunction Symptoms

In all of us, as we age, normal changes occur in the phases of the sexual cycle. Men may need more time and stimulation to achieve erection, or may have difficulty maintaining an erection.

In many cases, these symptoms can be associated with other medical disorders, including:

  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Peripheral Vascular Disease
  • Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms
  • Depression

In addition, some medications may affect sexual function. Medications such as serotonin reuptake inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants, as well as some antihypertensives, calcium channel blockers and beta blockers can adversely affect sexual function.

Traditional Treatments

While pharmaceutical penile enhancement and Erectile Dysfunction treatments have proven effective for many men, some people simply cannot take popular medications such as Viagra®, Levitra® or Cialis®. These medications are dangerous to men with certain medical conditions. This fact limits the number of men for whom pharmaceutical treatments are an option.

These men sometimes resort to over-the-counter supplements, hoping to find some relief. Many of these supplements have not been tested or approved by the FDA and most don’t work well, if at all.

A Better Alternative

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment offers a better options for men concerned about age-related sexual dysfunction. This treatment is an effective procedure that can improve erectile function, performance and overall sexual wellness. PRP Therapy is effective for men who just need a little help now and then, as well as those who have not been able to achieve an erection for years.

“Thanks for all your great care. I’ve had an excellent response to treatment with significant improvement in every aspect of erectile dysfunction. I’ve noticed that erections are easier to obtain and maintain and the quality of erections are more normal than I experienced prior to injection. I’m amazed that it has only been three (3) weeks and results are obvious. Thanks again for all your help.” – Dr. K
